Audrey Hepburn

I found this poem today that someone had posted on Facebook and I just had to share it. It was written by Audrey Hepburn and was read at her funeral, she was such an inspirational woman and I truly adore her and what she believed in.

For attractive lips, speak words of kindness..
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run his/her fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.

People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw out anyone.
Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms.
As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands; one for helping yourself, and the other for helping others.

Please feel free to comment about how the poem makes you feel and tell me who inspires you!!

Shopping Haul Review

Shopping Haul Review

Well I have been using the products for a couple of weeks now and I love all of them. I have used the “Kate Moss” lipsticks quite a lot the number 16 colour I feel is more of a spring/summer colour as it is peachy pink colour and I love the vibrancy of the number 20 which is a bright sepia pink, but both colours though are very pigmented and they stay on my lips for a long time and they do not dry them out.

The “VO5- Pump it up Mousse and Give me Texture spray are great. The mousse gives great volume but doesn’t leave your hair feeling greasy. The textured spray is a salt spray and does exactly what it says on the tin, but once you have sprayed it, it does leave your hair feeling quite luggy.

My favour purchase was the “Soap and Glory- Mini Mitt” I use it twice a day in the morning and before I go to bed. The bristles are small and soft so it didn’t scratch my face but it still left my skin soft and exfoliated. I put a small amount of “Neutrogena-Visibly Clear” with pink grapefruit which smells lovely and you only need a small amount on the “Mini Mitt” and produces lots of lovely bubbles. I gently massaged my face and neck in a circular motion for about a minute and then I rinsed with warm clean water and dried gently with a towel. My face was left soft and clean and my hubby said I smelt lovely.

Please leave me a comment If you have used any of these products please let me know what you thought of them.

Shopping Haul

Shopping Haul

This weekend I have been shopping at the “Potteries Shopping Centre” in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, but I was shocked to find that from that last time I went shopping which was about 3 weeks ago that another 3 shops have shut down Disney, Wallis, Republic and lots more have shutting down sales on and I feel we won’t have a shopping centre much longer. The centre looks sad and empty with boarded up shops and sadly there is only more to be added. But I have brought a couple of nice things. Firstly I went to “Boots” I wanted an exfoliating hand mitt for my face and I found a face massager by “Soap and Glory” called “Mini Mitt”. I can’t wait to give it a go.
I also brought VO5 Pump it up mousse with heat defence, VO5 Give me texture and 2 lipsticks from the “Kate Moss” collection number 16 which is a pretty peachy pink colour and number 20 which is vibrant sepia pink, I love the Kate Moss lipsticks they are very pigmented and last for a long time.

I then went to “Muse” I love their jewellery. The jewellery they offer is really good equality for the price. I brought a set of 3 earrings, a set of 3 rings and a bracelet and it only came to £5.00, I think bargain. I then went to” Miss Selfridges” and I have been looking at this denim skirt every time I have been shopping and I have tried it on twice but at £30.00 I thought it was a little expensive for a skirt as I like cheap and cheerful prices J but I thought sod it I want it and it is so durable you can where it with loads of different things. So I just did it.

When I have tried and tested my purchases, I will write a blog to review the items about what was my favourite and why.

If you have been shopping, tell me what your favourite purchase was and why?

Sorry again about the photo's I have now brought a lead off Ebay.

Treat Myself

What a great week so far, I have been given a promotion at to Deputy Manager. I am so excited but with this role means I have lots more responsibility. So I thought that I would treat myself to something pretty and small, I am thinking about buying a nice ring. I was reading “Zoella” blog and I noticed that she had brought a bracelet which is so pretty from www.etsy.com. ESTY is a boutique website where small business can sell their handmade designs, and some designs can be personalized. Esty designers sell jewellery, vintage items or gift items for women, men and children. The website in based in America so all the prices are in dollars but there is an option where it can be changed in to English Pounds.

I found a lovely designer called Simply Wearable who have a lovely selection of jewellery. I found a lovely stacking ring where you can choose between, pearl, embossed or half round wires and then you can pick a Cabochon stone to have set in to the ring.

I have also looked at some other designers jewellery and I thought what a lovely Mother Day present they would make, remember to put it in your diary 10th March 2013. I cannot write what I am thinking of buying, as she might read my blog J but as soon as I receive the items I will blog a review about the quality of the item, service, the amount of time it took to be delivered and the way it was delivered.
Thank you for reading please feel free to leave a comment about what you are doing for mother day or if you have ever brought anything from ESTY.

Valentines

Well what happened to me this Valentines? I thought I would be all romantic for my hubby on the Thursday. So when I got home from work I covered the whole house in candles, I set the table and sprinkled star and petals over it. I got all dressed up did my hair and makeup and I even ran him a nice bubble bath to have before we had tea which was his favourite steak and chip with a stilton and peppercorn sauce, I was so excited to see him.

He came in with his lovely big smile on his face holding a lovely bunch of flowers he said “This is lovely babe but I just need to write the card so can you just get me a pen”. This is my typical hubby lastminute.com but at least he brought me really flowers because last year he brought me silk flowers thinking they were real. When he realised that they were fake, it was so funny. He was disappointed he had his little rant and stormed off to the shop to get some new ones, but the flowers I received after were beautiful. Any way we had a lovely night and he enjoyed his bath and tea.

My hubby whisked me away to Liverpool for the day on the train on saturday, what a Great city. We did some shopping; I only brought a t-shirt from “Primark”. We had a lovely drink overlooking the docks a nice glass of rose wine and a piece of chocolate cake Mmm. While at the docks we found these "Love Locks" little locks connected to the railings with a love message written on the back, I found some locks that had been there for 10 years and when they had children they connected another smaller lock with their children's names on.

Oh my how many Beatle shops are there? But I must admit the Beatles are great. If you have ever seen “For in a bed” a few months ago there was a narrow boat that looked like the yellow submarine and we found it, it was so cool. In the evening we had a lovely romantic meal at “Bella Italian”. What a fabulous 2013 valentine. Bring on 2014.

Sorry these are not my photo's as I have lost my camera lead but as soon as i find it, i will write a blog about my photography.

Hello

Hello I'm Vicky and this is my first ever blog. So what do I talk about? Well I thought I would introduce myself and tell you a little about what I’m in to, things I think and dislike and just take it from there. So here goes....

I’m Vicky/ Vickster, as my husband calls me. I'm 24 and I live in Newcastle-under-Lyme with my husband. I have been married for 2 years. I have no children yet, but I would like some in the near future. I am a Nursery Nurse and I look after some amazing children. I have been a nursery nurse for 9 years now and I Love it.

In my spare time, well when I get some I enjoy shopping, making handmade cards and photography. I enjoy shopping at the Trafford Centre in Manchester and my favourite shops are New Look, Top Shop and I love Henry Holland collection in Debenhams. I would say that my fashion style is classy with a vintage touch. My icon is Audrey Hepburn; she was a stunning lady who had class and lots of charisma.

I am also a camper; I love the outdoors being in the fresh air, just sitting in our tent with a good book watching the world pass me by. Me and my husband have travelled all round the south of England, Cornwall, Devon and Somerset. We are hopefully going to go on holiday somewhere in Scotland next year. Our dream one day is to own a camper van, which we are shaving very hard for at the moment but fingers crossed one day we will have one.

Things I like about myself, this is always a hard question, well I like my hair and my eyes. What I dislike about myself is my feet they are long but thin so to get shoes to fit me correctly are hard to find.

Well if you have any questions just give me an e-mail and I will try and answer them. Thank you for reading my blog and hope you have enjoyed it.
